CAPSULE IV
THE LAST SUPPER
The Last Supper speaks to "having a seat and a voice at the table".
NORMI, which has a flare for creating romantic and fantastical fabric dreamscapes, brought its SS24 to life through intricately embellishing accessories with florals and pastry, all intertwined with a unique tapestry of plates, dinnerware and fruits that could be easily found at the dinner table. The SS24 capsule is an indulgent escape from the ordinary.
Because every now & then, you just need to ESCAPE
__________________
ESCAPE took root from a personal source - I sat in my apartment, watching the sun fade over the Hudson River, the rapidly declining peach glow lighting up the sky as if Manhattan were smoldering. And as Manhattan burned, I thought of home. I remember a life from a distant past, echoes of waves crashing on Maracas beach, visions of frothy bubbles kissing the shore, and the taste of salt against my lips. But even as I tried to hold onto those memories, they blurred and bled like the slices of oranges and reds that bruised the Hudson River. And as I watched Manhattan burn, and the Hudson bleed, I thought, “Every now and then, you just need to ESCAPE.”

prose
THE LAST SUPPER
come and take a seat with me, a seat at this table,
Because in a past, a past not so longer ago,
I could only watch you set the dinnerware at the dinner-table.
Come and let me pull out this seat for you, this seat at my table,
Because in a time, a time not so long ago, I couldn’t offer you a place to sit at my table.
Come and sit next to me, sit at my side, at our table.
Break the bread, and share the wine,
Because this is not the last supper,
it is the first supper of many suppers,
where the first shall be the last, and the last shall be the first, because at our table, we are allowed to simply sit, as equals.
Come and take a seat with me, let them make room at their table,
Because you deserve, not just a seat, but to have a voice, at all supper-tables
